AMD / Intel Hybrid Motherboard

ECS who recently merged with PC Chips has come up with an interesting creation (http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-309-1.htm). Using the SiS chipsets, they created a motherboard that will support many processors on many platforms. Starting life as an Intel socket 755, the PF88 uses purchasable expansion cards to add support for Socket 939 Athlon 64 to Socket 479 Pentium M. Priced affordable with good performance.

That sounds like an interesting motherboard design. When a new processor comes out all you would have to do is update the BIOS and buy the expansion card for that processor at least in theory anyway.
