Skype is an internet "phone company". Basically a free VoIP system.

I can already think of one problem....Security. Recently one web site was documenting peoples cell phone conversations.
So what do you all think?

What level of encryption? and just because it is encrypted doen't mean the company providing the service can't hear the whole converstation.

If I ever get broadband I will try this...have a feeling it won't work well on dial up.

I installed it... but haven't tried it yet.
It seems like a neat idea, and it runs on Linux :D
Security... well, I'd imagine it's better or at least as good as other IM clients, voice conversation is a lot harder to log.
Cell phones and wireless ones can also be evesdropped on, and tapping a landline isn't to hard...
Just don't do anything really important on it ;)

Skype to be bought by Ebay....

I think this would be a bad move....big companies usually destroy small upstarts....or at least change the innovation to a halt.
