you know that resume word....no not resume.....
here hit ctrl + ' + e and you will get the mark over your e (works in word, haven't tried it anywhere else). Usefull little shortcut there...now you don't have to go up and insert a symbol.

Why use shortcut keys? Well there are a couple reasons. If you can learn them and use them effectively then you can speed up your work on the computer. This is simply because you do not have to have your hands leave the keyboard. You don't have to root through menus, you don't have to have your hands leave the keyboard to right click and cut and paste....ect.
If you learn just a few of these shortcuts you can increase your efficiency. My favorite just because i like to mess up when i'm doing something is ctrl + z. This is the undo keyboard shortcut. If click on the toolbar most times it will tell you what the keyboard shortcut is. For instance redo is ctrl + y. Copy is ctrl + c. Don't forget you can get up to the toolbars without using your mouse also. Simply hit your alt key and it takes you up to the menu bar. You then can use your arrow keys. Press the down arrow and it will open the screen then you navigate down and if it expands over you can use the left and right arrows.
The tab key also has a lot of functions when dealing with keyboard shortcuts. Specially when dealing with forms. You hit the tab key and it goes to the next field.
Something not used or even taught much today but can help you increase your speed and efficiency....and you will impress your coworkers.

I confused someone who thought they knew alot about computers by using keyboard shortcuts.
I often fix the computer at work without plugging in the mouse....
Is the world of keyboard shortcuts dead... not for me.
