Lindows was in the news awhile ago, but I haven't heard much about it lately. Does anyone know whats happened to it?

Looks like a decent platform but i will stick with the free or very inexpensive version of linux. Although I could see people who are used to windows using this system. It uses a linux kernal right?

A big one. Seems M$ thinks window is trademarked, as is anything that sounds like it. They claimed people would be confused.

I can kind of see their point but what about the windows in your house....are they going to try to get a trademark status on those too....lol..sorry that was lame.

This being based on the linux kernal and looking similiar to windows might help in the increasing of linux but in kind of hurts it too because then it will still make people really on the look of windows.

Like it or not, M$ has the standard on the interface. It's what users expect. Apple, Gnome, KDE and others may argue they have a better product, but better doesnt mean jack, when you have no marketshare, y'know?

Yep...that just gives me something to add to my list of complaints about Microsoft though...and once again Monopoly comes to mind.
