A new Worm that targets AOL Instant Messenger users is believed to be the first worm that actually chats with its intended victims to dupe them into downloading and activating a malicious program.

Wow....security on AOL is ...well...pathetic.....either that or people just seem to come up with more ingenious ways to fool security....probably a bit of both.

Anytime when an extention is .pif, its always a fn virus. So its like DUH don't DL it!

lol...i don't download anything through AOL...so i don't think i much to worry about. Does it still spread through GAIM...cause that is what I use most of the time.

Of course depending on your computer settings you won't see that the extension is a .pif.

I think they based the virus off of automated phone answering systems... only the virus is less annoying :)

Sounds like the same tech being used for the IM PRANK BOT over at Ebaumsworld... where you type in someone's IM handle and it Ims them and responds and chats with the victim of the prankbot.
