Computerworld (http://www.computerworld.com/securitytopics/security/story/0,10801,108793,00.html)is reporting that the US Department of Homeland Security recently met with Sony concerning their little rootkit debacle, and read them the riot act. If the music industry continues to pull the stunts that Sony recently did, the DHS is promising legislation and/or regulation could follow.
From the story: 'A U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official warned today that if software distributors continue to sell products with dangerous rootkit software, as Sony BMG Music Entertainment recently did, legislation or regulation could follow.'
All I can say is, bend over Sony. Uncle Sams gonna drill you an new sphincter!
