I'm bringing this up here first since something related was discussed here before.

'Moose had to remove far too many spam posts and had to lockdown the 'guest' posting option on the T Trek board - so now you must be a registered member to post there.

I say thank you. very much so.

This is something that I believe needed to be done for a long time now and I applaud the move.

I know some of TPTB wanted to keep it open for everyone to pose a question or comment, but unfortunately even that has been abused despite TTrek's good faith (the James Marster's thread, last year's pro-SFX ,anti-T Trek drivel after Stephen posted a simple comparison of the value in the costs of such, etc.).

Really, it's not too hard to open an account and I think that people trying to discuss convention stuff on the T Trek board. Many other convention message boards, both of larger and smaller size have required memberships for a long time, and I am glad T Trek has followed up and joined the crowd. :)

Thank you 'Moose, I think you and I actually agree for a change :P

What Prompted The Change: 4 spam messages posted in public forums in a single day; 4 ranges of IP addresses completely blocked from using the message board; the sanity of the Moderation Team being challenged by spammers.

There are more changes coming insofar how Q&A will be done in the TT Q&A forum, but that hasn't been completely finalized just yet.
