Be a real life Trekker

Ever wanted to live the Star Trek dream? You now have the opportunity to be part of a new reality game at the Vulcan Tourism and Star Trek Station.
A casting call has been made to audition for a role in the video component of the game. Parts to be filled include one Starfleet captain, one Starfleet engineer, one alien villain and four alien troopers.
“We have so many great start trek fans and fabulous costumes that we put out the call to the fans and
people who love science fiction to take a picture of themselves in full costume,” said Dayna Dickens, tourism co-ordinator. “If they get through the selection process they’ll get a call back to audition to be in the video portion of the game.”
The game includes holographs and is only the
second facility nation-wide to use the technology that will be implemented. The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto is the only other place that has it.

“Initially we are looking for the right look,” said Dickens. “The idea is that we will be featuring people in their own costumes.”
She said they don’t know for sure just what that ‘look’ is, but will know it when they see it on the
photos and videos submitted.
“From there we’ll go to Calgary to auditions at the studio and work with the video crew to determine who has the best presence,” said Dickens. “I have a feeling that we will pick characters based on who comes to us. We have an idea of who we are looking for but I
suspect there will be some flexibility depending on who we get.”
Dickens is hoping to use as many local faces as she can because she feels the facility is so community
oriented.
Deadline for entries is Oct. 27. For more
information, contact Dayna at 485-2994.
