I mentioned this to Miyu, and I am certain she's not the only one interested in this venture.

OK, there are some well run conventions and expos out there in the Toronto & area, then again, there are some with much to be desired.

There is a convention for not for profit convention runners, which I think is great.

But what about an advocacy group for those of us who like to attend ? Who here has been to an event and have had to face poorly and possibly unsafe layouts, dealer's with questionable items for sale and other items that get pointed out but seem to fall on deaf ears.

Why not assemble together and put our concerns and ideas to good use and promote positive change?

It's about time we get heard in how some events conduct themselves, and we are all connected - when one event condones poor practices, it casts an ufair shadow upon the events we like and run within reasonable parameters.

It's time for the fans to be heard, together, collectively and to make things better for all.

This would give us the chance to praise those conventions that meet or exceed standards of quality and care for their customers.

We could better call for action towards those who need to listen, but tend to ignore 'just a few complaints here and there'.

It also gives us an excuse to get together at conventions, drink, watch tapes of masquerade highlights and watch certain news reports from the years in between.

We can also get t-shirts, buttons and stickers for this, in case anyone is interested.

Yeah, a collection of concerned attendees with their own shirts - kinda nifty ;)

Just think of it, a group of like minded people getting together to help bring about a change in how some conduct carries on, and hopefully making things better.

Just tossing up the idea for some of us to get together and bring issues we've discussed here and to possibly bring them to those who may have refused to hear us individually before.

Think about it. discuss it. it's all good.

Even if it doesn't amount to much at the start, it's a great chance to get together and have a few laughs at least ;)

Yeah, that would be nifty, a casual stroll down the hallways a few times in black t shirts

and if need be, handing out air fresheners.

This is the chance to do stuff some people joke about wishing to be able to ;)

If the bullwhip is handled/carried in accordance to the weapons policy of said events, sure! :)
