Ok first impressions after first viewing.
There were a few things that bothered me about this ep.
The 1st thing was if the instruments of the ships were blinded by the radiation so they required using the raptors to guide them how were the raptors able to transmit coordinates to the ships? Sure the raptors instrumentation has protection but not the civ ships so how do they transmit info to a ship whose instrumentation is not working?
Ok 2nd thing I didn’t understand why if the raptor pilots are so dependant on their ability to visualise the civ ships before they can relay coordinates and not being able to see them is an issue due to the blinding light then why did they never come up with a solution to dealing with the bright light? 3rd thing if the raptors were required to guide the ships and their potential to lose sight of them was an issue then why were the raptors flying separately from the civ ships? In other words why didn’t they just ride along either attached to the outside of the civ ships or in the landing bays of the civ ships and just use the instrumentation on board to guide the ship?
4th thing why was Sharron affected by the radiation? Caprica was surely a very toxic environment after all those nukes hit the planet and yet Cylons roamed around like nothing was bothering them.
5th I wondered why they showed us on the first trip Galactica getting moderate hull damage it made me wonder how in the world did a civ ship survive at all if a war ship designed to take this kind of thing was getting moderate damage.
Ok so I chose to ignore for me were the silly/illogical plot points of the show because despite this I was drawn into the story.
One scene I absolutely loved was Adama and Tigh laughing hysterically with each other at the mention of people eating paper and there was a shortage of paper. That was wonderful it was portrayed absolutely perfectly, wonderful acting. I’d made me start laughing too when I didn’t want to LOL.

Of all the sex scenes on BSG I would have liked to see a little more of, this would have been one of them. As short as that moment was and Kat looking as sick as she was she still made that moment hot.
On Kats last trip I was pissed off at her for going because I felt she didn’t have the right to risk other people lives and she was doing that, because she was in no shape to make that trip. So since she did act irresponsibly I thought they damn well better make her a hero then! So I kept saying “come on make her a hero at least”. And they did, it was just the right amount of suspence too. I liked her being greeted by the other pilots and I liked her throwing her arms up in victory before collapsing.

I loved the scene between Kara and Kat they made me cry thank goodness Kara was on in this scene. And I just kept getting worse when Adama showed up and sat down and started to tell Kat about the birth of his sons. It made me smile through my tears. It’s the first time I can recall actually shedding tears over an episode.
Favourite line :
Adama "threes a good round number"
I liked this ep and I liked the way the characters were written.
