View Full Version : Greetings! from another SOL migrant
zealot 12-10-2006, 07:31 PM Hello Everyone
I am a 26 year-old from one of those insignificant islands just of the coast of Western Europe and I am a closet fantasy lover :)
Recently I watched a fantastic film called Pan's Labyrinth by the Spanish film director Guillermo Del Toro and I want to recommend it to you all. If you watch a film before the year is out then you should go and watch that one.
best wishes

Actually, it is the mighty Jack Klugman as Quincy. I don't have many idols and don't really believe in heros as such, but if I did Quincy would be one.
Long before programmes like CSI and 24, 'Quince' was going that little bit extra to seek out the bad guys (especially if they resided in City Hall) and he always found time for a steak with his buddies at the end of every episode. Whatta guy!! :)

Hi Zealot.:)
Ah, Quincy!:D Spent most of the summer watching Quincy on ITV1, I taped it in the afternoon, then watched it when I got home from work.
I'm doing the same with Ironside on ITV3 at the moment.;)

zealot 12-12-2006, 04:45 PM Hiya BRG!
Good to see you over here too.
I agree it was good to see Quincy on the tv over the summer.
I have a question about yr avatar... It's obviously a Kilmarnock crest but I am interested in what it symbolises.
I mean I have never seen Squirrels on a crest before... are there a lot of them in Ayrshire? :)

The avatar is actually the Kilmarnock Football Club badge, although it is based on the Kilmarnock coat of arms. Which I have found a picture of.
Squirrels are common in Kilmarnock, although grey squirrels are much more common than red, you still come across red squirrels in the Dean Park.
The hand and the motto Confido (I Trust) are kept, although we changed it slihgtly to Confedimus(in God we trust). But we replaced the shield with a football.
We used the town coat of arms as our badge for years, but in the 1990's, somebody discovered we were breaking a centuries old law by doing so, so we had to come up with an alternate version!

PS- Our club fanzine is called Kissin' the Squirrels, and our club mascot is a big blue & white squirrel called Nutz.;)

crpsaiyan 12-13-2006, 07:24 PM Hello, everyone!!! :)
I'm Claudine Roselle Puente, and I've been a fan of anime for the past 11 years. I'm also getting into further into the realm of sci-fi -- I'm talking Star Wars, Star Trek, and yes, even Cthulhu. I'm gonna have to ask if there is a brave soul on this board who can give me the recipe for Cthulhu juice. *rubs hands together*
Well, I've gotta get back to work, but I thought I'd post a message just to say hello. :)
Sincerely,
Claudine Roselle Puente

Macross 12-17-2006, 07:46 PM HEY ZEALOT!
Good to see ya!
I loved the Q-man too! And I hail the greatness of SAM I AM!
(Tom)
zealot 12-26-2006, 11:51 AM Hey Macross :)
Yeah, I'm sure Sam could have solved most of the mysteries in Quincy, ME by himself...
I always assumed he was too busy enjoying family life or had some other higher, more important priorities though. Why else would he let "Quince" get all the glory? :)
