Here is the Module description and a few screens from my Current D20 Modern Mod Neverwinter module, "Sects & The City"
2025 - Storm City:
The chaos following the agricultural plagues of 2015 decimated most of what was the USA. After the Collapse of the Central Government Durring the Food Riots, American cities fell to chaos, and were only rescued by the rise of the new Corporate Governements. Even so, most of the urban areas are decimated sprawl, combat zones ruled by gangs of cyberpowered thugs. Only the corporate policed Zones are reletivley safe. Outside the city limits proper, it is even worse, because with no government to speak of, the North American free fire zones, as they have become known, are savage and brutal lands, filled with Nomads, raiders, and Mutants.
Inside the cities, Technological Advances grew rapidly without government interference into the R&D of the big corporations. Cybernetics, Tech Toys, and Exotic Bodysculpting are the "In Street Chic". It is not uncommon to see a Cat-girl perfect model complete with Tail, rubbing fur with a Biosculpted Elf or Hobbit in the hotclubs or dirty bars... nor is it uncommon for a ganger to have surgically implanted Fangs or Claws to rend and tear his latest victim.
Experiments into Mind altering Nanotech, Pioneered by Tesla Biotech R&D have unleashed hidden pyschic talents throught the population... somthing TB did not anticipate happening... But thanks to a single act of industrial sabotage, the Nanites were released into the population and spread like a plague...
You are a young Gang Member, part of a Crew in Storm City known as the West Side Wreckers... you have spent all your short life on the streets of the West Side in the Combat Zone, but you long for a way out...
