The Sun (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001320029-2007250185,00.html)is reporting that season 4 is the last for the Doctor.
Russell T. Davies has decided to axe the BBC1 sci-fi drama and concentrate on other projects. He and senior staff have hatched a plot to hand in a group resignation in summer 2008. A source said: “The heavy workload — nine months of 16-hour days every year — has started to take its toll.
“It was decided the best thing for the show was go out at the top next year.”

NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Say it isn't so!!! We finally get some decent Sci-Fi TV and they decide to cancel it!! :(
For me Dr. Who and Battlestar Galactica are the only SciFi TV on worth watching!

The Sun isn't exactly the most reputable paper out there, so I checked into it & it isn't true. (Begin cheering now)
I checked a couple of sources, including this, from Outpost Gallifrey (http://www.gallifreyone.com/news.php?id=seriesnews)
MediaGuardian.co.uk, the media news-focused section of The Guardian newspaper's website, has today run a story (http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcast/story/0,,2092376,00.html) (subscription link) by reporter Ben Dowell speculating about the possible future of Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies.
The piece, in reponse to a story (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001320029-2007250185,00.html) published in this morning's edition of the tabloid newspaper The Sun, contains a quote from an unnamed "BBC drama spokeswoman", stating that: "Discussions have not begun so we cannot say if Russell will be involved or not" with Doctor Who beyond the end of the fourth series in 2008.
However, the report specifically denies The Sun's story that Davies and other staff on the show have a plan to end the programme at the conclusion of the fourth series. MediaGuardian quotes another source, a similarly unnamed "senior BBC Wales drama source", as telling them that:
"Russell has always said that he wouldn't be with the show forever and he has made no secret that the hours are quite exhausting... But there isn't any way it would be axed even if he left. He loves the show and he does feel that maybe it would benefit from some new blood."
The MediaGuardian states that "if Mr Davies does leave Doctor Who, the BBC will want to keep such a popular show going by bringing in a new executive producer to take over his creative responsibilities."
That is truly good news :D
Indeed, I can't see the BBC axing the most popular show they have had in years. Unless there is a ratings collapse, but there are no signs of that.
I can see RTD leaving the show, however, it should still be in good hands.
Another Sun story recently was that Freema was being sacked. Apparently Martha has not been a popular replacement for Rose. I hope this also proves to be false, as I think she is doing just fine.

That also turned out to be rumor, or at least her official site was saying it wasn't true... I didn't go there myself, since I didn't want to be "spoiled" for Season 3.
