I've washed my hands of AdAstra.
I just can't bring myself to belong to an organization that disrespects and treats volunteers as poorly as they did this year. The fallout from this has already shook up a good friendship with I had with one of their 'good guys', but unfortunately this had to happen.

I don't want to disrespect Sid's wishes (although I wish him the best). However I just wanted to let people know that if anyone has an issue with Ad Astra, I am open to talking, to bringing things to the notice of the powers that be and to trying to resolve problems. I obviously can't promise that everything will change, but I promise to treat any concerns with respect and to try my best to help.

I already brought my issues to the powers that be and as I noted before it was pointless (like the chair assuming I quit when I did not). Not going into details, but something else unacceptable happened during the con that was the nail in the coffin. And no, I'm not 'disrespecting' anyone.
There's a handful of people there, well probably more than that I will miss. But when the people in charge pull unacceptable garbage I refuse to stand idly by and enable it via apathy.
I hope that I'm not reading your reply the wrong way as it does seem rather high and mighty when I've been more than fair and delivered my previous concerns privately when I feel that the powers that be have not.

I know that you did try to talk to people and things unfortunately did not work out. You've done what you feel is best as you have every right to. I don't feel that you're trying to disrespect anyone.
I just don't want other people who may have had problems or who may have problems in the future with Ad Astra to feel there is noone to discuss them with, or that noone cares. You did try to bring your concerns to the powers that be, but some people don't and it makes it harder to notice them.
