THIS CON HAS BEEN CANCELLED - Bad Ticket Sales! See Statement below from Vulkon.

"We are sorry to announce that due to extremely low ticket sales and fan interest in this event we are forced to cancel the Tampa Kryptkon in August.
We are working on booking most our Kryptkon guests to appear at other Vulkon events next year.

Please stay tuned for info on refunds. You will also have the option to transfer your registration to an upcoming event.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

You can't blame Vulkon for making the decision to cancel this event. I'm sure it sucks for those who planned their vacations around it and bought tickets but at least they can still go and enjoy Florida. Not like if the convention were say in Indianapolis where there would be little else to do. People also have to remember that the last thing that they wanted to do was cancel an event...even still they are still going to lose a substantial amount of money. I give them HUGE credit for being upfront and honest about why they made the decision to cancel this con.
As well, it's the hard truth about conventions....how would some of the attendees felt had their favourite guest canceled verses the whole con being canceled. At least this way they can get back 100% of their ticket price...the same would not have been true had it been a guest that was no longer attending.
