Vulkon has listed the date of their Cleveland Convention for April 7-9th, 2006. So far there is nothing listed in terms of guests but I'm sure that something will be announced soon. It's great to see that they do intend to go ahead with another convention in Cleveland.

For those of you who have not attended this convention before, we were there this year and they had an AWESOME guest list including Jonathan Frakes (STNG/Roswell/Gargoyles), Claudia Christian (B5), George Takei (STOS), John Noble (Lord of the Rings), Mary Oyaya (Star Wars Ep 2 & 3),Carmen Argenziano (Stargate/B5), Richard Hatch (Battlestar), Herb Jefferson Jr. (Battlestar) & Gary Jones (StarGate). I felt it was the best "all around" convention that I have attended. The guests were superb both because of the variety of shows that they covered as well as being so friendly and appreciative of the fans. They had many events including a "Meet & Greet" where the guests were introduced and did an informal talk on Friday night, guest panels, autograph sessions, masquerade, dinner, dance, etc.

I can't wait to hear who will be coming for 2006 because this will DEFINITELY be a convention worth attending if they get some interesting guests like they did this year.

Right on Ken!!!! Gee, how many people do you think we can convince to join the fun in Cleveland next year????? BTW, don't try to jip the Toll Booth operator of the correct change this time!

As for guests, it would be great if they could get Kate Mulgrew as we've heard rumours about....apparently, she "owes" them a convention because she had to cancel a previous one. I loved the mix of shows that they represented. If they can do that again, we're guaranteed to have a blast. Now I just have to get that costume done for the masquerade!!!

Cleveland has announced their first guest!!!

Connor Trinneer
Charles "Trip" Tucker
ST:Enterprise
Sunday Only

Even though I got a chance to see him at SFX a few years ago, I will GLADLY travel to Cleveland for a chance to see him again!!!! Can't wait to see who their top guest is going to be.

It looks like we'll be staying later on Sunday this year huh? Works for me.

Yea, we did see him at SFX but we all know that in Cleveland, it will be a much more intimate and interactive meeting with Mr. Trineer. You will get a lot more access and be able to speak to him more than we did at SFX, and probably will not have that two and a half hour lineup to get his autograph this time.

What a great announcement for the first guest, lets up this portends great things for the headliner, who ever it might be (Kate are you listening)

Nice to see that Vulkon is working on the Cleveland convention now!!

I have no doubt that I could find something to get autographed by Connor Trinneer....hmmm, I wonder how many extra autograph cards I can get a hold of????? LOL!

Fingers still crossed for Kate Mulgrew as I know that will get a few of our friends to join us south of the border for this convention.

Hey Ken....btw, are we the friends you plan to take to Cleveland with ya! LOL! We saw your post on the Vulkon site.

Yes, Jackie, you are the friends I was talking about, also including my lovely wife who is actually looking forward to coming with us this time, she thinks Trip Tucker is "cute").

It's is so nice to have friends and family that share the same interests and are just as con crazy as I am (except Maggie who comes along cus' she loves me).

So to thank my lovely wife for indulging me my particular kind of madness I am taking her to Niagara Falls this weekend for our first anniversay.

Later dudes

Looks like Connor is now on Saturday instead of Sunday. Not sure if it was originally posted wrong or if they had to change the date because of other commitments. Either way....works for me!!!!

My wonderful husband got me a new Connor action figure to get autographed (this one he's in his uniform). When I saw him at SFX I got the one of him in the encounter suit autographed. Looks like we'll also try to get the DVD case for Season 1 autographed too.

Can't wait to hear the other guest announcements!

Another new StarGate SG-1 guest added to the line-up.

Tony Amendola

That makes 1 Star Trek Guest (Connor Trineer) and 2 StarGate SG-1 guests announced for Cleveland.

bumping this one up.

Also as Vulkon has had to go through a rough time with Patrick Stewart cancelling his Orlando appearance and the replacement Jolene Blalock not drawing the same, if the guests announced for Cleveland interest you, it would be great to support Joe Motes out and attend this wonderfully run convention.

Not officially on the Vulkon site but on his own personal site so I am sure it will be listed "officially" in the next day or two.

Someone must be slow to update the Vulkon website with this info....leave it to the fans to find out the REAL INFORMATION straight from the source!!!!

He was a great guest at Trek....many years back....but I'd love to see him again. Guess his ongoing appearances on StarGate help keep him as a current tv guest....but I'm still only interested in seeing him because of Voyager.

Now if we could only get Kate Mulgrew...that would be SO COOL!!!!

Here is a quick quote from Bruce Howie - one of the promoters at Vulkon conventions.

"Also as a little hint of things to come, the guest roster for Cleveland is shaping up to be bigger than Orlando and there should be some interesting changes in the convention."

This sounds awful intriguing!!

Vulkon Orlando had: Levar Burton, Jolene Blalock, Robert Picardo, Ethan Phillips, Anthony Montgomery, Linda Park, Robert Beltran.

This incredible news, I guess we can put Cleveland on our schedule for sure now, and if the rumoured news of Kate Mulgrew attending comes true, it would make this quite the CON to attend.

Jackie, Bryan, what do you think want to ride down with us in the van, it'll be a hoot.

Man , now I cannot wait for this CON. Joe Motes may be retiring but it doesn't look like that will stop Vulkon from having kick-ass conventions.

This CON is getting to be one of the musts for 2006 already. What a line up!!!, and the headliner not even announced yet. Better start selling stuff on eBay now to get money for autographs,

WOW

Looks like this convention's line-up is set as it is posted (barring any cancellations due to work commitments).

Vulkon is changing their style a bit and going the Toronto Trek/Motor City way and having a more reasnableweekend pass price and pay for autographs wanted as opposed to their usual SFX style where you can buy a more expensive ticket and see a Big Name Guest.

This convention has 11 guests announced so far (3 Star Trek Voyager Guests, 3 Star Trek Enterprise Guests, 1 Star Trek TNG guest, 2 Buck Rogers Guests and 2 StarGate SG-1 Guests).

They also have a play put on by Ethan Phillips and Robert Picardo, a Masquerade, A Saturday Retro Dance, A Banquet, Panels, Guest Talks, Photo Sessions as well as a Friday Meet and Greet - a well rounded convention for anyone interested!

Jackie (shoppingqueen) and I booked our weekend passes for Cleveland and we booked a hotel room for the 2 nights (Friday and Saturday night). We booked the $60 tickets and we will be in rows 2-9.

We are looking forward to this convention - we even bought tickets to the play being put on by Ethan Phillips and Robert Picardo!!

Jackie will be in the masquerade and we will definitely attend the Saturday Night Retro-Dance!! The cool part is if the dance isn't going so good, in that same hotel is one of the best bars where you can go and party and dance too!! ;)

I cannot wait for this, the first CON of the year. I just bought tickets (rows 2 - 9 ) for both Maggie and I, as well as the tickets for "House Call" with Picardo and Phillips and also booked our room. Seeing as this is probably the only vacation we will get this year we are staying until Monday and coming home then. I booked a room on the executive level so we can always have a room party, waht do you think?, any other takers?

I hope lots of us can make it so we have a whole group. SO far it's Bryan, Jackie, Maggie and me. We need more, lets go people.

I hope to see a lot of you there.

I can't speak to gas prices right now (too bloody expensive in my opinion!!) but the hotel in Cleveland - right across the road is a Bob Evans and a Denny's as well as an expensive steak house restaurant (we generally skip the expensive restaurants and stick to Bob Evans and Denny's) - Can't beat the $5.99 breakfasts!!

The Cleveland convention has some panels, a good dealer's room (not huge but really different stuff), a fun dance, a growing masquerade, guest talks, autographs, Art Room, a really good bar in the hotel if you choose (big dance floor) and the convention has a buffet banquet with the stars if you want (to me the price is too high $65 USD per person).

Trust me Vulkon, Cleveland rocks!! :)

Bob, I would recommend emailing Joe Motes (the Promoter) directly at vulkon@aol.com <vulkon@aol.com> and ask all the questions you like.

Joe is very responsive to answering emails and gives pretty detailed answers.

I saw the Art Show last year, it was quite good and I would say about 1/2 the size of TT19's.

You wouldn't regret attending this con Bob!! Trust me!!

The dance is fun, the guests are very accessible, half the time you find them sitting in the lobby looking for conversations, sitting in the restaurant across the road or in the autograph room and they are so relaxed!

The dealer's room is pretty cool too!

Less than 2 months to this show!! I can't wait!! Vulkon Rocks!!

Kenny G....I am also very excited about this convention!!!! It should be a lot of fun and we look forward to spending a fun weekend with you and your lovely wife!

It would be awesome if Silent Bob and Miyu decide to try this convention too. I would describe it as a mini-TT. There may not be as much going on but in a way I prefer it....the atmosphere is a lot more laid back and there are more opportunities to mingle with the guests.

We had a GREAT time Bob!! We did miss you and Miyu (I missed Miyu more than you though! - just being honest ;) )

The guests were great! Got all the autographs we wanted! The Art room may have been a bit small but actually had some really neat pieces in it!!

The dealer's room had some very different stuff (not the run of the mill stuff you get at most conventions).

The masquerade was smaller - only 10 entries in total. shoppingqueen (Jackie) won 1st runner-up in the masquerade for her Jedi Shaak-Ti costume. Actually Anthony Montgomery (Mayweather from Enterprise was one of the judges) and Vulkon gives out trophies to all their winners - great touch!

And as a bonus...KATE MULGREW (Janeway) made a surprise appearance and talked for a few minutes (no autographing) but we were able to take lots of pics of her!! Made it a real added bonus we did not have to pay for!

The play "House Call" with Ethan Phillips and Robert Picardo was hilarious and well worth the add'l $15 per ticket to see this 1hr play!

All in all another stellar show by Vulkon!!
