How about our 5-1 Bills? I was so glad Fowler was out of the line up this game

I got myself an authentic Marshawn Jersey last week. Way too big but who cares?

Good for them!

I am thrilled at the way the Bills are playing! 5-1 and when they trash the fish next week they will go to 6-1

I am impressed with Kawika Mitchell and Paul Posluzny on the D and Lee Evans is turning into a stud receiver!!

I see the Bills finishing at 11-5 this year and winning the AFC East.

I think I am going to get a Lee Evans jersey!

Miyu

Lee was my other choice for a jersey...but I just love Marshawn's Heart - he never gives up

I want another Superbowl of Buffalo Bills vs NY Giants this year EXCEPT instead of Norwood right we get Trent Edwards to Lee Evans for the winning TD in the last few seconds!

Right now I see the Top 3 in the AFC as Tennessee, Buffalo and Pittsburgh

Right now I see the Top 3 in the NFC as NY Giants, Washington and Tampa Bay

I like the Bills' chances! (I am still worried about Indianapolis once they get some injured starters back - not a Wild Card Team I would want to play).

Miyu
10-21-2008, 06:54 PM
Oh I think we have a really good chance..the SD game always worried me.....the cards manhandled us which surprised me a little...but they came out balls out so I have to give them credit. Its an aggression we really weren't used to seeing.

And give it up for NEW OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR....maybe if we had him sooner we'd have done better last year

Bryan R

The one thing that drives me nuts about the NFL is how injuries play such a huge role - with the salary cap it is so hard to have decent back-ups.

New England, Indy, Dallas are all hit by injuries and see what havoc it is creating for them. I just hope the Bills can stay relatively healthy and they have a chance!

I would love to see teams have to go to Buffalo in January to play - bring on the snow!!

Bills have Miami this week, New York Jets and then New England - have to go 2-1 in those 3 and then they are in great shape (would love 3-0 but will take 2-1). I could live with a 7-2 record.

It isnt going to be easy.....but I think we can hold our own....we have a team that believes in themselves

Keep us the winning ways and NEXT year the Bills should be on Monday Night Football a couple more times as well as Sunday Night!!

Still tickets available for the Bills and Dolphins in Toronto this December if you have a "spare" $500.

Bryan R

I think the Rogers Corp has kearned a lesson here - first off you CAN'T sell pre-season games at exorbinant prices (first off it is exhibition football and who cares anyways) and there is a "breaking" point where people just won't pay - even for the NFL!!

If I attend NFL games I want the whole experience and tailgating is part of that - not much of that in Toronto with our laws on open liquor. btw: I am not abdicating public intoxication (and acting like a 3 yr old) but grilling up some meat and having a few beers at the parking lot with fellow friends/fans is part of the experience!

Bad beat today to the Miami team...hurts even more with New England and NY Jets winning too!

This means the next 2 games against the Pats and Jets are EVEN more important than they were before today's loss to the Dolphins!

What gets me is that Trent played awful but fans are giving him a pass because he isn't JP...bah

Bryan R
10-27-2008, 10:08 AM
I agree it was not Trent's finer moments but the defence looked lost against Miami running the Wildcat offence.

Baltimore proved last week the only way to stop it is pressure, pressure, pressure and the Defensive line got little penetration on the Dolphins.

I was also surprised the Bills did not go for it in the first quarter on 4th down inside the Dolphins 1-yard line. Needed to prove a point there and show the Dolphins they meant business - not kicking an 18 yd field goal.

At least both of you have a team to cheer for, i was a fan of the 49ers since 1981, but just find it hard to be a fan of their's over the past 7 years or so with them being just so bad. Other than the one year they made the playoffs, they are in deep trouble again and i just can't get motivated to watch football on sundays that much anymore.

We should have a get together at one of the bills games, i would definitely be up for that. Never been to one before, and i sure won't pay the prices they want at the game in toronto this year.

John, maybe you and I can go to Buffalo next season to see a game and hopefully Lara will want to go too (maybe we let Silent Bob come too!) ;)

No way "in heck" that the Buffalo Bills should be losing at home to the New York Jets (Brett Favre or not)!!

The amount of mental errors (turnovers and stupid penalties cost the Bills) and they deserved to lose but teams with playoff aspirations cannot lose home games like that.

Seemed like the D-Line were just pushed off the ball in the 4th quarter - very disappointing to watch!

Now they are in a 3-way tie for first with the Jets and Patriots and the Dolphins picked up a big win IN Denver and are now only 1 game behind the three leades (and the Dolphins have the lowly Seahawks in Miami next weekend) while the Bills have to travel to New England!!

This is not looking very promising right now - need a BIG win in Foxboro next week!

Miyu
11-03-2008, 03:07 PM
Its like theyre mentally breaking down.

Here's what burns me. Edwards makes the same mistakes as Losman with the same suspect line, but he gets a pass and JP is the root of all evil. I don't get it

Bryan R
11-03-2008, 03:48 PM
For some reason Trent Edwards is the "golden boy" and JP Losman is the "ugly step-child". Everyone is stuck on Edwards because Bill Walsh said Edwards was the "next Steve Young".

And of course Bill Walsh could do "no wrong". (said sarcastically!)

primetime21
11-03-2008, 04:50 PM
I think Edwards is not being criticized as much as JP because they are winning more. It's all about the W's. You can win ugly and be a saint, but if you lose with the same stats then look out as you will never hear the end of it.

Miyu
11-04-2008, 05:57 AM
True on both counts. I just hate how everything was handled last year....and at first we were winning this year so it SEEMED like it was ultimately the right decision. Except everyone has figured us out now. Now where is all the smart decisions TrEd is supposed to possess? He is doing no better than JP did at this point.

Bryan R
11-04-2008, 09:44 AM
I think we will get a real good picture where the Bills are this weekend playing in New England.

The Bills will be without Donte Whitmer too with a seperated shoulder and it is a fight for 1st place too.

They better not lose or could find themselves in last place in the division and it is probably the most competitive alonng with the NFC EAST in the NFL!! (no team is less than .500).

They need to turn Marshawn Lynch loose and really beat-up the New England front D-line -> only real chance they have!

Miyu
11-04-2008, 04:38 PM
Whomever keeps calling the play to run up the middle needs to be shot. It hasnt worked ALL season. Let the Beast Mode go to the outside. Boy has some hustle when has a hole. See when he was getting receptions?

Bryan R
11-10-2008, 11:12 AM
ok let me see... New England Pats = 20 Buffalo Bills = 10

That makes New England 6-3, NY Jets 6-3, Miami Dolphins 5-4, Buffalo Bills 5-4 (and losing the tie-breaker with BOTH New England and NY Jets at the moment). How do you go from 1st to 4th in 2 weeks time??!!

I cannot believe how many "dumb" errors Trent Edwards is making and can we please have an offense coordinator that will STOP running Marshawn Lynch up the middle (the Bills' line is not good enough for this! they do not have a line like the Minnesota Vikings have!).

This is getting frustrating to watch...the Bills have a great field goal kicker, good special teams, a decent defence and righ now an anemic offence!! Time for some changes!

They better beat Cleveland Browns this Monday or this season will probably be lost!

New England plays the NY Jets (so one of them is going 7-3) and Miami Dolphins are home to Oakland Raiders and should go to 6-4 and that leaves the loser of NE and NYJ at 6-4 as well so the Bills CANNOT go to 5-5!! They will not be able to pass 3 teams for Playoff berth in AFC East.

Miyu
11-10-2008, 08:03 PM
...but its ok that TrEd sucks...its not his fault...in fact, its JPs

-_- Ive been saying the line sux for years, but everyone wants to blame the QB.Unless its TrEd. You can't have it both ways. -_-*

Bryan R
11-18-2008, 10:54 AM
Ok...could it get any worse for the Bills!!! :(

They are now at .500 football (5-5) and in last place in the AFC East (2 games behind the Jets and 1 game behind the Dolphins and Pats) and to make it worse they lose all tie-breakers!!

I just cannot see them making the playoffs now without taking 5 of the last 6 to go 10-6 (not making the playoffs in the AFC with a record worse than that) - they HAVE to win in Kansas City or it is all over for 2008 season. (With the Dolphins playing the Pats one of them is going 7-4 and even if the Jets lose to Tennessee they will be 7-4). Cannot fall any farther behind!

After a 4-0 start this is simply unacceptable and I would like to see some player stand up and get angry!!

Miyu
11-18-2008, 10:10 PM
...I want JP to stand up and say "Gimme my team back, *****!"

Cuz really, it should have been his, but they ****ed him over last season.

Trent is a one trick ony who got figured out REAL quick. Lee was open ALL night and got nada....if JP was in there I guarantee you two 80+ yard bombs.

Because he can. And trent can't.

Trent is NO long ball threat so the defenses don't respect him....you can contain JP if you fluster but out of nowhere he'll throw that long ball to Lee. You KNOW its coming, but you can't stop it. Lee is that damn fast and has such a great instinct for JPs throws.

Sorry my sore spot.

Bryan R
12-01-2008, 08:57 AM
Well that game San Fran 10 Bills 3 - all I can say is DISGRACEFUL!! You cannot lose to that low quality of foe on your home field no less!! This brings a sad closure to this year (no way the Bills get a better record than NY, NE and even lowly Miami for that rate!

The receivers left JP out to dry - he actually had time to throw and they cannot get open!!?? Either that or the play calling needed to be different - go to the dink and dunk route and make the DB's loosen up!

And for Ryan Lindell - simply unacceptable to miss a 20 yd field goal and even the 40 yarder was very makeable.

I am still in shock at the Bills losing that game - the 49'ers give up an AVERAGE of 28 points per game and the Bills put up a measly 3!!

Simply unacceptable!!

I agree with you Bryan that game was a disgrace. But i think it did show 2 things, first that neither Edwards or Losman is a qb this team can ride to the playoffs, and second that the coaching staff on this team has no clue to what they are doing. The play calling with JP in the second half was interesting to say the least, not that the receivers on this team are anything special. I think whomever is judging talent on this team needs to go. The talent of the Bills really isn't that good. Go down the roster and how many players would other teams really want, i think you will find not very many. Till it changes at the top the team will just be going through the motions, sort of like the Leafs had been doing until recently. I am sure glad i didn't get tickets to this coming sunday in Toronto.

There was NO WAY I was paying the severely inflated prices that Rogers was charging for tickets and it is good to hear they are having trouble selling the game out! They literally are trying to "fleece" people out of hundreds of dollars and there is really no talgating to speak of which is a big part of NFL Sundays!

Personally I think the Bills need a Grade A pass rusher, a Grade A tight end (what a difference this makes in opening up the passing game - it is not fair that Lee Evans is double-teamed amost every play), use Roscoe Parrish like the Patriots use Wes Welker and definitely need a Shut Down corner back.

The division is so tight: NY Jets are 8-4, New England at 7-5, Miami at 7-5 and Bills at 6-6 but Bills lose all the tie-breakers and also play Miami this week!

Looks real ugly at the moment!

Miyu
12-01-2008, 06:58 PM
Here's what I don't get, JP and TrEd have two different styles - why was the play calling not changed to reflect that....JPs bread and butter is the long bomb to Evans - Lee can outrun just about anyone, all JP has to do is sling it out there....and yet that wasn't called.

Our coaches simply put do NOT know what do with our players.

After hearing the score of yesterday's game i am definitely glad i didn't pay to see that game. I don't have cable so i couldn't even watch it on tv. I heard a bit on the radio. I still go by my statement before, this Bills team needs a some major restructuring done on it. There are very few tradeable commodities on this team. As well, it goes without saying, the coaching staff needs to hit the highway as well. I don't even see them winning another game this season, which would put them with a worse record than last year. Not very promising for a team that started 4-0, and was at 5-1 as well. I really don't know what else to say, but getting rid of Marv Levy would be the first thing, followed by the coaching staff, and hope they end up losing the rest of their games to get a better draft pick now.

Miyu
12-08-2008, 11:36 AM
Here's what got to me....***** about JP all you want, but he tried so damn hard to win that game....and lets talk about everyone he hit one the money that dropped the dam ball (Im looking at YOU Marshawn...and Robert Royal, and James Hardy)

We should have thrown more to Evans and Reed and there wasn't much of a run game. Fred Jackson was invisible.

The coaches are really stinking. They got figured out and they're not adjusting.

I know so many people who are going to blame JP but quite frankly the whole offense no longer clicks.

defense was great Ill give that

Bryan R
12-08-2008, 02:59 PM
Here's my take on the game...

1) If Marshawn Lynch is only going to rush for 31 yards - the Bills just cannot win.

2) The Bills "D" was actually ok - no real complaints on the unit.

3) They are really skewering "JP Lose-man" but I think it is a bit unfair to lower the boom on only him. What about his center who cannot even see he is in the shot-gun and tries to just "hut" the ball and fumbles it and JP recovers and takes a pounding on that one. That is Pop Warner football - cannot happen in the NFL!!

4) The coaching staff have no clue on how to call plays - how about some screens and draws to take the pressure off the QB?

5) The Bills have the biggest/heaviest O-Line in the NFL but sure have trouble developing a ground game, the Broncos have had the smallest O-Line for years and each year get a 1,000 yard back - can you spell C-O-A-C-H-I-N-G!!

6) The Bills are done this year - time to start planning for next year and their 1st and 2nd round picks better be for Offensive talent (no more DB drafts please). No way they are catching and passing 3 teams ahead of them! Considering the NY Jets and Miami Dolphins play the final game against one another.

7) I want to see some Bills pride next week in New York against the Jets - no laying down and giving up! Heck Seattle played a whale of a game against N.E. and should have beaten them but at least they gave it 100%.

Just another disappointing Sunday for the Bills.

Miyu

The defense is solid....the offense isn't there and I think thats all COACHING...its like not one of them is even o the same page!!!!

Bryan R
12-09-2008, 10:07 AM
Even just comparing the Bills to the Dolphins and the Patriots.

The Dolphins have an average quarterback, good running game, decent Defence and an ok O-Line but solid coaching (they are at 8-5).

The Patriots have a back-up QB that only threw about 20 NFL passes in his career, excellent WR's, an ok running game, a below average Defence and excellent special teams and hate him or not a great coach in Bellichik (they are at 8-5)

The Bills have a solid D, questionable QB, good running game, good special teams and an ok O-Line (Bills are 6-7) but the Bills are outcoached in almost every game!

It is time to bring in an "offensively minded" Head Coach and some strong play-calling. Heck the Dolphins were 1-15 last year and get a new Head Coach and he was smart enopugh to bring in the Wildcat offence for a bit (helped get the Dolphins to respectability and now they are already challenging).

The Dolphins last 3 games are home to San Fran, at KC and at NY Jets.

I agree about getting rid of the coaches, don't forget about turfing Marv Levy as well. I think he has quite a big hand in all of this, i don't know why, just a feeling I have. They also need to do a really good job of scouting this off sesaon for the upcoming draft.

Bryan R
12-09-2008, 12:14 PM
For me the first 3 things the Bills need in this draft are:

1) A game breaking WR/TE (I would love a "Tony Gonsales type TE on the Bills - this would open up space for Roscoe Parrish in the flats and give Evans some open space).

2) A rock solid Center/Guard

3) A young QB used to running a pro set and use Marshawn Lynch (screens/draws). You can pick up a good QB in the 2nd round.

I am fine dumping Levy as long as Jauron goes (only coaches I keep are the Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams coach).

Miyu
12-09-2008, 06:44 PM
Levy has been gone. He stepped down after last season, didn't he?

However, Jauron was his choice and it was a doozy. Jauron is too fn conservative...and youre not going to develop any QB with the coaches we've had....you know bench you the moment youre not doing well instead of letting you establish some consistency.

Bryan R
12-15-2008, 10:16 AM
OK - that game yesterday had to PROVE THE POINT!! Dick Jauron and his offensive coaching staff HAVE TO GO!! That play calling at the end was a disgace to football!

The Jets could not stop Marshawn Lynch running and they call a roll-out passing play with JP (ok JP is going to take the heat from Bills fans for fumbling but he should not have even been put in that position!).

The Bills play amazing special teams all day (that penalty on the kick return for a TD was questionable at best - a real "homer call").

Also the sack where the Jet defender slammed JP down real hard long after the ball was thrown should have been a penalty too! The Jets got about 4 "homer" calls yesterday and the Bills should have won anyways.

That puts a fork in a very bad last half of the season. :(

Miyu
12-15-2008, 08:21 PM
Isn't it sick when everyone looks the other way when we get hit real bad.

Say what you will about JP but he has taking some really bad hits in his short playing time

Bryan R
12-16-2008, 09:59 AM
The NFL refereeing is really bad this year!

I saw that "overturned call" in the Baltimore/Pittsburgh game - there was no indisputable evidence to overturn!

The Bills/Jets game had 4 or 5 questionable calls and they all went against the Bills.

Does the NFL cater to big city teams? (New York, Pittsburgh, Dallas)..hmmmmmm...

Miyu
12-16-2008, 04:46 PM
Why would they want things to go in the Bills favour? I mean, its not like anyone cares about them outside of Buffalo 9_9

Bryan R
12-17-2008, 09:57 AM
If you look at the "most likely" playoff teams it is really skewed to the "Bigger Cities"

New York Jates/Miami Dolphins
Pittsburgh
Baltimore
Indianapolis
Dallas
New York Giants
Atlanta

Really looks "interesting".....

Overall I am just disappointed in what could have been for the Bills and 2008 - so much promise starting so much disappointing in the ending!

primetime21
12-17-2008, 11:20 AM
I agree Bryan they did start out good, but those wins were agianst teams in the lower end of the league. In games against teams with winning records they haven't fared too well. The Jets were able to move the ball quite easily against them on Sunday and scoring when they needed it. I still think this team needs some major changes to be competitive. Hopefull for their fans it will happen in the off-season. My team is the 49ers and i sure haven't had much to cheer about in the last decade or so, and it doesn't look all that promising for the near future either.

Bryan R
12-17-2008, 03:19 PM
I am a HUGE NFL fan and I would say this year is one of the absolute worst for refereeing/botched replay calls, etc that I can remember.

We have players shooting themselves in the leg, more banned substances being taken, Pacman Jones (need I say more), Ocho Cinco being a goof, Terell Owens being a jerk, etc.

Then I get the Bills being run by a coach that should stick to the College game - geez bring Turner Gill from University of Buffal in to coach - at least he knows what he is doing (and he played in the CFL too!) - on that note I figure if no "big name" US college school does not sign Turner Gill as their coach in 2010 he will get snapped up by a CFL team to coach!

I am hoping the NFL Playoffs restore my faith in the game - refereeing tends to be better and should be fun watching teams travel to Pittsburgh and New York in December/January to play football (wind, cold, snow!).

Miyu
12-17-2008, 05:59 PM

Bryan R

ok fair is fair.....

The Bills played their hearts out yesterday afternoon and beat the Broncos right in Denver (and stopped the Broncos from clinching a playoff birth too!).

The Bills deserved that win!!

The running game was great - hmmm the bills won even without J. Peters on the O-line ....interesting...

It is stunning to believe that the Bills can knock the Patriots out of the Playoffs next week by beating them in Buffalo!

Should make next week's game even more fun to watch!!

Well Bryan, from what i have been reading it looks like Jauron will be back next year. Don't know about the other coaches, but sounds like the head coach will. I hope that the Bills get some great work from their scouts for the upcoming draft because it is easy to turn around a team in the NFL these days, but the Bills haven't picked up on that yet i guess. 3 straight years of 7-9 football just isn't acceptable, especially when combined with not making the playoffs this decade. Maybe things will change for next season, but we won't find out till September.

The Bills need to take a lesson from the Denver Broncos - they fired a coach that has won them 2 Super Bowls (Shanahan) and he has gone 8-8 in the last 3 years so it was time for him to go.

Jauron has led the Bills to 3 straight 7-9 seasons and he has to go now.

Bryan R

No way Ralph Wilson gives Cowher $5 million plus per year on a 4 or 5 year deal - it would be a smart thing to do but Ralph likes to hold the hammer and I cannot see Cowher working for that type of guy.

I see Cowher ending up in a situation like Denver or if San Diego decides to make a change I can definitely see him there (both those teams have young and very good QB's).
