This is an AWESOME way to see your favourite sci-fi and slayer guests. Travel in style on Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas cruise ship on their voyage to Alaska!!!!
So far they have "unofficial" commitments for:
Armin Shimerman, Dean Haglund and Claudia Christian for the Seatrek guests
www.scifi-cruises.com
Armin Shimerman and Clare Kramer for the SlayerCruise
www.slayercruise.com
I was on Seatrek '93 when all of the guests were from various Trek series. Some of the guests that I was able to meet back on that cruise have since passed away (James Doohan and Mark Leonard) or they simply have not done the convention circuit at all that I am aware of since then (Daniel Davis - Moriarty, Eric Menyuk - Traveler). It was a great way to meet the guests as you have more opportunities to talk one on one with them. It was neat to experience moments that you might never have been able to otherwise, such as swimming in the ocean in Grand Caymen and seeing John DeLancie swim past you with his kids! What about hanging out in the casino or the bar and being able to chat with a favourite guest. These are things that are quite common when you are on the cruises. You get a great package of 8 x 10 autographed pictures from the guests as a keepsake too. That way you don't have to stress about getting anyone's autograph. Guests may still sign personalized items on the cruise but it's their right to refuse to sign any additional autographs. It can be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience....a great convention, a week-long vacation and an unbelievable cruise to Alaska! Only one drawback....$$$$$....but I can say from past experience that it was DEFINITELY worth every penny!!!
