The problem with Enterpoop, and VGer is that at each step, they get farther and farther from the source.
Star Trek is the Universe Gene created around a little ship called Enterprise, and a captain named Kirk. All paths lead to the source.
Sadly, each new attempt by Paramont and the money whores has only dilluted and watered down the ideas.
Next Gen took several years to get it right...yet, their movies flopped cuz, it wasn't really "Trek".
DS9 was sabatoged by Paramont in order to maximize its $ at the expense of the fan base that built it. Hense, we will have no DS9 movies ever. They made certain of it.
Vger was little more than 'lost in space' meets a trekies nightmare. lot holes galore.
Enterpoop now has completely thrown away the timeline established since the 60's, in order to add more T&A, and rehashed plots.
Those aren't Trek.
Trek is dead...and has been for some time.
All VG and EP are, are 'science fiction' series using 'some' of the concepts of the original....they are derivitive works, created by corporate suits without any concern for those who brought them to the dance.
Sci-Fi and Universal have the same contempt for the BSG fans who kept the faith for 20 years. The BBS for the Dr Who fans who kept the torch burning for 40.
The -only- series in the last decade that ended a run with a minimum of plot holes, unanswered questions and other corporate garbage was B5..and only because JMS often times went thru hell with the suits.
Accept the fact that the real idea of Trek is dead, and was killed by corporate greed. Then, sit back, forget about time lines, hell, even last weeks episode, and relax. Quantum Leep Trek is on, and the Vulcan babes Nipply. Woot! Maybe this week we can see her bare ass in the shower with a wet Porthos. After all, thats what we all -really- want right?
Bah, give me the Romulan War, and show me how the Federation was created based on the 30+ year established history. A history that was created by the love of hundreds of thousands of fanatic fans, many of whom found the spirit in Genes creation.
Now remember, only 'Officially Sanctioned Thoughts'.
