This is a short video I produced back in This is a short video I produced back in 1995 with some associates. It is based on a fun little segment from a Star Trek novel entitled "How Much For Just The Planet" by John M. Ford. Mr. Ford recently passed away and I felt it was time for this video to finally see the light of day, as an homage to one of (I think) the best writers in the Star Trek expanded universe.
The video was created on an old Quadra 840AV Macintosh using Adobe PhotoShop for image generation, Macromedia Director for animation, Specular Infini-D for 3D generation and Adobe Premiere for assembling all the pieces. I know some of the animation will appear crude and unfinished by today's standards. Please keep in mind this was done 11 years ago in my spare time on some really old machines that were available.
I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it. Rest in peace, John. You will be missed.
